About Nowruz
Nowruz, meaning "New Day" in Persian, is one of the world's oldest and most joyful celebrations, marking the arrival of spring and the beginning of the Persian New Year. Observed for over 3,000 years across Iran and communities worldwide, Nowruz is a time of renewal, togetherness, and extraordinary feasting.
This year, Shabestan, Singapore's multi-award-winning Persian restaurant, invites you to welcome Nowruz in the grandest of traditions. On 20 March 2026, we are proud to present the Nowruz Grand Buffet: a magnificent spread of over 100 Authentic Persian dishes, crafted from scratch by our master chefs, served in the warm and opulent surroundings of our riverside Robertson Quay
Whether you are Persian at heart or simply a lover of bold, aromatic, and deeply soulful cuisine, this is a dining experience unlike any other in Singapore.
Nowruz falls on the spring equinox, 20 March 2026, and is celebrated by over 300 million people across Iran, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and diaspora communities worldwide. Central to Nowruz is the Haft-Sin table, a ceremonial arrangement of seven symbolic items each beginning with the Persian letter "Sin" (س), representing wishes for the new year: health, prosperity, love, patience, beauty, abundance, and sunrise.
At Shabestan's Nowruz Grand Buffet, these beloved traditions come alive in a feast that is as meaningful as it is magnificent.
